Rica 'tte Kanji?!
Rica 'tte Kanji is the story of young college student Rica who moves to Tokyo to attend a Women's Junior College and find friendship in love in Shinjuku Ni-Choume, Tokyo's gay and lesbian district. The author, Rica Takashima, wrote it in response to the overwhelming numbers of lesbian manga which either take place in a sci-fi setting or end unhappily. She wanted to create a story that reflected a more accurate picture of lesbian life in a real world setting.
This is the first yuri (girl/girl) manga to be made available in English. It was first published in Japan as a doujinshi and then accepted by Anise magazine. Rica 'tte Kanji?! was translated into English through Yuricon & ALC Publishing in cooperation with the author, and has been featured in AnimeFringe and recommended by Animerica (Vol. 11, Number 9).
