Magical Girl Pretty Sammy/Magical Project S
Japanese title: Mahou Shoujo Pretty Sammy
Pretty Sammy is a magical girl version of the Tenchi Muyo character Sasami Kawai, who first appeared in the final Tenchi OVA "Mihoshi Special" and then in a 3 episode OAV (all four OAVs are on the first disc below) called Magical Girl Pretty Sammy. This was followed by a 13 episode TV series which was called Magical Project S when released in English. The TV series is subtitle-only and is available in two 2-disc sets. There is a third series based on Pretty Sammy, called Sasami: Mahou Shoujo Club, currently airing in Japan as of 2005-2006.
Sasami Kawai suddenly finds herself transforming into a magical girl, teaming up with a talking rabbit (that claims to be a cat), wearing embarrassing clothes, and battling bizarre enemies. All consequences of the coronation of Tsunami, the new queen of Juraihelm, who has Sasami as her champion to restore the balance of good in the universe. Unfortunately for Sasami, this job will not be easy since Tsunami’s rival has also selected a magical girl to cause trouble and discredit Tsunami, but no one knows that this Pixy Misa is really Sasami's best friend!
